The continual perpetration of violent crime continues to haunt South Africa and tear apart the lives of its law-abiding citizens, usually in the most calculated, cowardly and malicious manner. This was reinforced recently by the circumstances surrounding Leigh Matthews, which shocked and outraged South Africans from across the political spectrum and all walks of life.

  • To raise money for the Leigh Matthews
    Trust Fund. This fund has been setup to embark
    upon projects which will assist the
    Serious & Violent Crimes Division of the SAPS.
  • In addition the fund has an objective of assisting
    victims of violent crime. The initial has been
    launched with executives of the Johannesburg University.
  • To unite South Africans from all spheres of life
  • To make a proactive difference in the country
  • To take a stand against victims of crime just
    becoming mere statistics in a file somewhere
Bass Lake will hold a diving marathon, aiming to keep teams of divers underwater for a period of 24 hours.

Format: Each member of the team organised by various dive schools will spend approximately 30 minutes underwater. For safety reasons there will be a mandatory surface interval of 3 hours should there be repetitive dives.
 
Dates:
The dives will start at 12:00pm on Saturday 23 April 2005
and end at 12:00pm on Sunday 24 April 2005
The party however, will continue till late! 		Venue:

For those not in the water, or waiting your turn for entry into the lake, the following events are available to keep you busy!
The event will be enlivened by the
sounds of local musicians and bands.		 Stand a chance to win a 3.5m Swan kayak by
spending R10.00 or more on raffle tickets!
You can get the chance to try out the Bass Lake
4x4 trail at a measly R10.00 per person.		 Try your hand at archery for only R10.00!

 Of course the event wouldn't be what is, if it wasn't for the good food and great beer!
